We are Team Hayate, a STEM Racing Team from Tokyo, Japan, competing at the World Finals with the goal of becoming the 2026 STEM Racing World Champions.

Team Hayate was founded by members of the former Fusion Force STEM Racing Team, who competed in the 2025 STEM Racing World Finals. Fusion Force won the Best International Collaboration Team Award and finished with the 5th fastest car in the competition.

Following this experience, the members gained a deep understanding of the competition’s scale and an even stronger ambition to claim the World Championship title at the 2026 World Finals. This new team, Team Hayate, has been founded with the best talent with a shared passion for success at the STEM Racing World Finals. With less than a year until the next World Finals, Team Hayate is fully committed to preparation and performance, determined to enter the global stage as a leading contender for the World Champions Title.

Japan is world-renowned for its deep traditions of craftsmanship, skilled precision, and attention to detail.  Team Hayate embodies this spirit. We understand that perfection is fleeting, and therefore, we constantly strive to push the boundaries, seeking constant improvement. Guided by this philosophy, in our activities, we will showcase and highlight the unique techniques, beauty, and innovation in Japanese craftsmanship.

Our team logo captures the spirit and legacy of pure Japanese craftsmanship—forms of art built on patience, perfection, and pride. The bold kanji “Hayate”(疾風), translating to fast wind, reflects both our team name and the strong wind-like force that drives us. Its brushstroke-inspired composition echoes the tradition of Japanese calligraphy. The clean, almost aerodynamic form around it symbolizes how that tradition has evolved and been integrated into modern-day engineering. The deep indigo hues, originating from traditional aizome dyeing, together with the subtle gust of wind behind the kanji, tie everything together, symbolizing how finding common ground between innovation and craftsmanship is what propels our team forward.

OUR Mascot - Kawasemi

The kingfisher (specifically, the collared kingfisher) is widely known for its unique aerodynamic characteristics and deeply integrated within Japanese culture — appearing throughout engineering as well, with the shinkansen being a prime example. Its long, slender beak is able to minimize air resistance and sonic boom when diving into the water at high speeds; this natural principle was borrowed in the development of the Shinkansen's iconic nose and then also in our National's KAWASEMI car design.
